SUMMARY:Day of Remembering Our Interdependence
DESCRIPTION:This is a Buddhist-led\, inter-faith\, day-long practice and pilgrimage in NYC  Inspired by the Buddhist Monks’ 2\,300-mile Walk for Peace.\n\n\nPilgrims will do sitting and walking meditation\, transferring merit and metta practice\, chanting and ceremonies for everyone’s safety and protection. The day will culminate in a joyful gathering\, with songs\, poetry\, movement\, food.\n\nAll are welcome to join the entire five-borough pilgrimage or parts of it.\n\n\nTo register or volunteer to help\, click here.\n\nPILGRIMAGE ROUTE (TENTATIVE):\n\nAll are welcome to join the entire pilgrimage or join at any point.\nIn the hours between convergence points\, we will do walking meditation\, travel by ferry or subway or bus\, and rest. Please note that this route is not final. \nTwo separate starting points—please join either one:\n8-9AM – Staten Island\, The Staten Island September 11th Memorial (Bank St.\, North Shore Waterfront Esplanade Park)\n8-9AM – The Bronx\, Banana Kelly Double Dutch (Intervale Ave. and Kelly St.)\, a sculpture by John Ahearn and Rigoberto Torres\, an homage to the people of the Bronx. \n11AM-12PM – Manhattan\, African Burial Ground National Monument (Duane St. and Elk St.)/Foley Square\, with blessings from Ramapo Munsee Lenape elder Grandmother Clara Soaring Hawk\, along with Owl Steven Dennison Smith \n2-3PM – Brooklyn\, Metropolitan Detention Center (116 29th St.)\, where people arrested/abducted by ICE are being held \n5-7PM – Queens\, Socrates Sculpture Park (Vernon Blvd. and Broadway)

SUMMARY:Start of De-Ice Citizens' Bank Campaign
DESCRIPTION:Citizens Bank helps fund two private prison companies (GeoGroup and Core Civic) that are building out 80\,000 new immigrant detention cells.  Nine Banks (JPMorgan Chase\, Wells Fargo\, Bank of America\, SunTrust\, BNP Paribas\, Fifth Third\, PNC\, Barclays\, and U.S. Bank.) have cut ties to these companies\, but Citizens’ Bank refuses to cut ties. On the morning of January 24th at 11:00 am members of the De-Ice Citizens Bank Coalition in Connecticut\, Rhode Island\, Massachusetts\, Vermont\, and New York will conduct standouts at Citizens Bank branches\, deliver letters of protest to bank managers\, and close bank accounts en masse. \nCreate a local group in your town or city\, and join in the event\, or find out where there is a local event near you. \nBanners\, sample letters\, and more information is available through  de.ice.citizensbank@gmail.co \nFor more information\, visit boycottcitizens.org \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, September 6\, there is a call DC residents and allies from across the country to join a “We Are All DC“ national march in solidarity with DC communities to end the occupation of DC. \nThe march will be followed by a Beloved Community Banquet from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Walker Memorial Baptist Church\, 13th and U Streets NW\, which will feature free food\, music\, and dancing and is co-sponsored by a consortium of twenty-three different religious organizations.
