SUMMARY:Start of De-Ice Citizens' Bank Campaign
DESCRIPTION:Citizens Bank helps fund two private prison companies (GeoGroup and Core Civic) that are building out 80\,000 new immigrant detention cells.  Nine Banks (JPMorgan Chase\, Wells Fargo\, Bank of America\, SunTrust\, BNP Paribas\, Fifth Third\, PNC\, Barclays\, and U.S. Bank.) have cut ties to these companies\, but Citizens’ Bank refuses to cut ties. On the morning of January 24th at 11:00 am members of the De-Ice Citizens Bank Coalition in Connecticut\, Rhode Island\, Massachusetts\, Vermont\, and New York will conduct standouts at Citizens Bank branches\, deliver letters of protest to bank managers\, and close bank accounts en masse. \nCreate a local group in your town or city\, and join in the event\, or find out where there is a local event near you. \nBanners\, sample letters\, and more information is available through  de.ice.citizensbank@gmail.co \nFor more information\, visit boycottcitizens.org \n  \n

SUMMARY:ICE Out For Good
DESCRIPTION:A broad national coalition\, including Indivisible\, MoveOn Civic Action\, the American Civil Liberties Union\, Voto Latino\, United We Dream\, 50501\, the Disappeared in America Campaign of the Not Above the Law coalition\, and partner organizations across the country\, is calling for a coordinated ICE Out For Good Weekend of Action on Saturday\, January 10\, and Sunday\, January 11. In less than 24 hours after the announcement\, there are already 1\,000 events anticipated nationwide. \nThe mobilization comes in response to the escalation of ICE violence in our communities\, the killing of Renee Nicole Good\, a 37-year-old wife and mother of three\, and the months-long pattern of unchecked violence and abuse in marginalized communities across America. Across the country\, communities will gather in nonviolent\, lawful\, and community-led actions to honor the life lost\, demand accountability\, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions. \nGood and the Portland victims are part of a broader and deeply alarming pattern of unchecked violence and abuse by federal immigration enforcement agencies. In September\, ICE reportedly shot and killed Silverio Villegas González\, a father and cook from Mexico living in Chicago. In 2025 alone\, more than 30 people have reportedly died in ICE detention. \nAll actions under the ICE Out For Good banner are grounded in moral witness\, public accountability\, and collective care. We remain committed to nonviolent organizing. You can find the growing list of events here. \nhttps://www.mobilize.us/?tag_ids=29132&tag_ids=29133&tag_ids=29130&tag_ids=29124 \n

SUMMARY:Sun Day
DESCRIPTION:Sun Day is a day of action on September 21\, 2025\, celebrating solar and wind power\, and the movement to leave fossil fuels behind. Solar energy is now the cheapest source of power on the planet – and gives us a chance to actually do something about the climate crisis. But fossil fuel billionaires are doing everything they can to shut it down. We will build\, rally\, sing\, and come together in the communities that we need to get laws changed and work done. \nEvent website \nSun Day

SUMMARY:Labor Day 2025: Workers Over Billionaires
DESCRIPTION:Labor and community are planning more than a barbecue on Labor Day this year because we have to stop the billionaire takeover.** Billionaires are converting the government into their private slush fund and just passed the largest wealth giveaway in the history of the US. The money they take from working families\, they put in billionaires’ pockets and set aside to fund a private army of ICE agents. \nJust like any bad boss\, the way we stop the takeover is with collective action.** We are working people rising up to stop the billionaire takeover–not just through the ballot box or the courts\, but through building a bigger and stronger movement. We are growing our movement and fighting for a country that is more fair\, just\, equitable\, and free for all of us—and not just a chosen few. \nOn September 1st we will continue the movement we launched together on May 1st\, standing in solidarity with all our communities under attack and fighting for real wins for all our people. \nThousands of communities across the country are taking a stand on Labor Day\, join us! We will be in the streets\, outside the offices of the corporate criminals who are behind the attacks on our freedoms\, and at congressional offices. Together we will **demand a country that puts workers over billionaires.** \n**OUR DEMANDS TO BUILD THE SOCIETY WE ALL DESERVE:** \n1. Stop the billionaire takeover corrupting our government. \n2. Protect and defend Medicaid\, Social Security\, and other programs for working people. \n3. Fully funded schools\, and healthcare and housing for all. \n4. Stop the attacks on immigrants\, Black\, indigenous\, trans people\, and all our communities. \n5. Invest in people not wars. \n*Please note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Weapons of any kind\, including those legally permitted\, should not be brought to events.* \nEvent website: \nhttps://maydaystrong.org/
