Start of De-Ice Citizens’ Bank Campaign

Citizens Bank helps fund two private prison companies (GeoGroup and Core Civic) that are building out 80,000 new immigrant detention cells.  Nine Banks (JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, SunTrust, BNP Paribas, Fifth Third, PNC, Barclays, and U.S. Bank.) have cut ties to these companies, but Citizens’ Bank refuses to cut ties. On the morning of January 24th at 11:00 am members of the De-Ice Citizens Bank Coalition in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New York will conduct standouts at Citizens Bank branches, deliver letters of protest to bank managers, and close bank accounts en masse.
