Town Hall: “Buddhist Voices for Immigration Justice: Compassion in Action”

November 20 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EST

This Town Hall will provide a virtual space for the Buddhist community to engage in dialogue about immigration issues, fostering awareness, understanding, and compassion in the face of systemic injustice. Speakers will include Buddhist teachers, legal experts, interfaith activists, and concerned community members. Together they will explore the intersection of Buddhist teachings, human rights, immigrant justice, and how Buddhists can take action. This event is jointly organized and sponsored by the Buddhist Coalition for Democracy and the Insight Meditation Community of Washington D.C.  It will include two panels of guest speakers, a Q-and-A session, concluding remarks and a call to action. Buddhist teachers on the panel will include Tara Brach of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington D.C. and others.

More information on this event including the full list of panelists, the exact time, and the Zoom URL will be provided as we get closer to the event.
